Torrentio is the most installed community add-on for Stremio: it searches many torrent providers and lists the results directly on each movie or episode page. On its own it streams via P2P; connected to a debrid service such as Real-Debrid it plays cached files from fast servers, which is why most users combine both.

This guide shows how to install Torrentio, configure every option on its configure page, connect Real-Debrid and fix the usual problems.

What is Torrentio?

Torrentio is a free stream add-on. It does not host files: when you open a title, it looks up matching torrents from public providers and returns them as playable streams inside Stremio. The configure page lists providers such as YTS, EZTV, 1337x, ThePirateBay, TorrentGalaxy, Nyaa (anime), Rutor/Rutracker (Russian) and several Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian sources.

Step 1: Open the Torrentio configure page

Go to https://torrentio.strem.fun/configure in the browser of the same device where Stremio is installed (on TVs and Android TV, see the Copy Link method below).

Always generate your install link from this page. Old manifest URLs shared on forums or in videos may contain someone else’s settings, or an outdated format.

Step 2: Configure the options

The configure page has these fields:

Step 3: Connect Real-Debrid

A debrid service downloads the file to its own servers and streams it to you over HTTPS. Popular files are already cached, so they start in seconds.

  1. Create an account at Real-Debrid and buy a premium plan (all plans have the same features; only the duration changes).
  2. Open real-debrid.com/apitoken while logged in and copy your API key.

  1. Back on the Torrentio configure page, set Debrid Provider to RealDebrid and paste the key in the API Key field. The “Find API Key →” link next to the field takes you to the same token page.
  2. Review the Options section that appears for the debrid provider (for example hiding non-cached “download” links).

Keep your key private. The install link contains your API key. Do not share it; if it leaks, regenerate the key on the token page and reinstall Torrentio.

Step 4: Install Torrentio in Stremio

Click INSTALL. Your browser asks to open Stremio; accept, and Stremio shows the add-on screen. Click Install again.

Installing on TVs and devices without a browser

  1. On the configure page, click Copy Link instead of Install.
  2. Open Stremio on the device, go to Add-ons and paste the link into the search box at the top.
  3. Click Install.

Add-ons are saved to your Stremio account, so an add-on installed on your computer also appears on the TV when you log in with the same account. That is usually the easiest method for Smart TVs and the Firestick.

Step 5: Check that it works

  1. Open any popular movie in Stremio.
  2. In the stream list on the right, look for Torrentio entries.
  3. With Real-Debrid, cached results are marked [RD+] and start instantly. Results marked [RD download] must be downloaded by Real-Debrid first.

To change settings later, go to Add-ons → My Add-ons → Torrentio → Configure, adjust the options and reinstall. The new install replaces the old one.

If you stream P2P without debrid, your IP address is visible to other peers. Many users add a VPN such as NordVPN in that case, which also helps if your ISP throttles torrent traffic.
