Torrentio is the most popular stream add-on for Stremio, but it is a free community service and it occasionally goes down or returns fewer results. Installing a second stream add-on is the easiest way to keep watching when that happens, and some alternatives offer features Torrentio does not have.

1. Comet — the closest Torrentio replacement

Comet is an open-source stream add-on (g0ldyy/comet on GitHub) that searches torrent, debrid and Usenet sources and returns them inside Stremio, much like Torrentio.

  • Debrid services: Real-Debrid, All-Debrid, Premiumize, TorBox, Debrid-Link, Debrider, EasyDebrid, OffCloud and PikPak; direct torrent playback is also supported.
  • Sources: it can query several scrapers, including Torrentio itself, Jackett, Prowlarr, Zilean and MediaFusion.
  • Extras: anime support through Kitsu IDs, smart ranking of results and an optional adult content filter.
  • Proxy streaming: instances can proxy debrid streams, which helps when your debrid account is used from several IP addresses.

Install: open the configure page of a public Comet instance (for example the one listed on the ElfHosted recommended add-ons page), choose your debrid service, paste your API key and click Install.

2. MediaFusion — best for other languages

MediaFusion (mhdzumair/MediaFusion) is an open-source streaming add-on with debrid and P2P support and catalogs in more than 50 languages. It is the usual recommendation if Torrentio returns few results in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi or other non-English languages.

  • Debrid services: Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize, TorBox and several more.
  • Sources: indexers, Torrentio, Zilean and RSS feeds, aggregated into one list.
  • Privacy: credentials are stored encrypted inside your manifest URL.
  • Public instances: for example mediafusion.elfhosted.com.

Install: open the public instance, configure your debrid service and languages, and click Install.

3. AIOStreams — all your add-ons in one list

AIOStreams (Viren070/AIOStreams) is a “super-add-on”: instead of replacing Torrentio it combines several stream add-ons and services into one, removes duplicates, filters and sorts the results.

  • Marketplace: 80+ community add-ons you can enable from its settings; your debrid key is applied to each compatible add-on automatically. Any other Stremio add-on can be added by URL.
  • Filters: include or exclude by resolution, quality, HDR/Dolby Vision, audio, language, file size, cache status and more.
  • Services: Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Debrid-Link, Premiumize, TorBox, EasyDebrid, PikPak, Offcloud, Seedr, put.io and others, plus Usenet providers.
  • Note: its built-in torrent search requires a debrid service.

AIOStreams takes longer to configure, but it is the best option if you have tried several add-ons and want one clean, sorted stream list. Its filters can also hide HDR/Dolby Vision files that cause playback issues on some TVs.

4. Jackettio — for private trackers

Jackettio connects your own Jackett instance (which talks to public and private torrent trackers) to your debrid service. It is aimed at advanced users: you need to run or rent a Jackett server. If you are not already using private trackers, Comet or MediaFusion are simpler.

How to choose

  • Torrentio is down and you want the same experience: install Comet.
  • You watch mostly in Spanish, Portuguese, French or other languages: add MediaFusion.
  • You already use several add-ons and get messy, duplicated lists: switch to AIOStreams.
  • You use private trackers: Jackettio.

You do not have to remove Torrentio. Stremio shows streams from all installed add-ons together, so a second add-on simply acts as a backup. Too many stream add-ons, however, make the stream list slow to load; two or three is a good balance.

If no add-on works

When every stream add-on fails at the same time, the problem is rarely the add-ons. Check:

  1. Your debrid subscription is active and the API key is correct.
  2. Your internet connection and DNS: see Stremio not loading.
  3. Whether your ISP blocks or throttles the add-on domains. A VPN such as NordVPN usually solves that.
